Last week was Youth Sunday and we had youths all over the place doing everything, ushering, leading worship, leading service and etc. I was down as usher cause I volunteered when Jerry asked in midweek. Actually the night before my mom was stressing out cause she couldn't find my clothes. And in the end my clothes were pretty much not my own except the shirt. See, my shoes, tie and socks were my dad's, and the pants were my uncle's. Hah, so I was joking that if I were to be left with just what's my own, I'd be left in a shirt :/ And of course the highlight of the whole ushering was having to do it with Elyssa o: Naw just kidding. But still my mouth dropped open when Jerry went like, "Zac and Elyssa, go take centre aisle." And it was so funny cause we both didn't know what exactly to do. For example when giving out the bulletins, like the people kept on taking from only one person and we kept having to swap places due to one person's diminishing bulletins. And we forgot to turn on the air curtain so who knows how many minutes of aircon we wasted while the centre door was open there :/ and Zeb came over to stand with us at the centre door and wouldn't go back to his seat. Then a while after Megan and her mom and Kieran came in and Zeb hid behind me. And when she was gone I was like, "Don't say I didn't warn you." (To Zeb cause he's scared of Megan cause she thinks he's cute cause of I don't know what :/) But during service Elyssa sat so very uncomfortably close to me in service when there was this like big gap between her and the man sitting beside her :/ I'm not saying anything, just that I thought she would know the meaning of personal space :/ And during offering Julia told us to stay up there till everyone is finished with the offering then come down. Then cause both the offering bags ended up at my side of the pews, Elyssa didn't know so she walked all the way over from the other side and later after service she was like, "oh no, I didn't realise that I was supposed to wait up there!" Haha [: but actually this was my second time doing the offering collection. I only never did the giving out of bulletins before. So It was quite an interesting sunday. Except that instead of preaching a sermon, Pastor David apparently pushed that sermon one week back and combined it with today's sermon on "The God who Remembers", which is like the meaning behind my name, and instead there was the Zion Jubilee DVD that was played and showed us how Zion grew from 51 years ago since 1957 and the view from the perspectives of those older elders who saw Zion grow from scratch. It was really amazing how we grew from a small church of 200 members to over 2000 today. So thank God for His unfailing love and faithfulness.
And for YF yesterday I played with Terence. Last week, Daryl played with Jiamin, Kevin, Danielle and Deborah. That was cool but weird cause there were like what. 5 guitarists? So for yesterday's YF I thought i played okay all until it was my turn to do the intro. In short I screwed up. If you can understand, there's two kinds of "strumming patterns". For the song that I was supposed to intro, "All that I am, All that I have", both could be used. However I played one when I was intending to play the other. Really confusing :/ But yeah. I got nervous and just only, thankfully, managed to squeeze past the first bar of the intro and salvage the remaining 3 bars :/ The second session of the Dig Deeper Bible Study book I felt was somewhat harder to understand, for me, as compared to the first session. I couldn't understand the part about the chiasm (pronounced the same as "chasm" with a "k" sound in front). It was a bit confusing. But other than that, it was also rather dry, but Sam could put it in a way that was grasp-able. And the funny thing was that our group was like two small groups combined. Yet there were four tables of people. Hmm, weird, where did the last group come from? :/ Phantom group [: So at one point Joy was like, "truth hurts, but you need good friends to tell you the truth. Sarah (Tan) you're ugly" o: that was so funny. But Sarah was like oh inner beauty is what matters, haha, I guess she's right. She's quite nice la. Joy was like in the whacking spirit.. Earlier she had said Serene was short and everyone was like o: o: o: Then when we sat down and listened to Sam I was sitting beside Vello and Joshua. And halfway we swapped pens and her blue pen's so black. Then she left halfway and came back and Danny was there also. Then I asked where she went and she was like, "this Danny ah, take cab never bring money to pay cab fare, i went to pay for his cab fare!" Danny's so funny sometimes. Scratch that, I mean all the time. then later on Joshua knew the answer to a question Sam asked so he went up to say what it was and Danny suddenly said, "yeah, go Power Ranger." My inward reaction was like "#&^*&!%@#$@%#^*(^!@#$%^*%#^#" Then Danny cleared his throat and he did it a few consecutive times and each time with a different pitch. So Vello was like, "why you clear your throat got tune one?" And of course we were talking about a passage in Jonah. Jonah claimed to be a God-fearing person who followed God but as Sam pointed out, his actions contradicted his behaviour. Then Vello wrote, "He's lying!" And Danny drew a pinocchio on her paper and (because It was an ugly pinocchio, like, really ugly), Vello wrote back with an arrow pointing at the pinocchio, "so ugly!" Haha [: Then Vello looked at my notes and kept telling Danny my writing was neat. Yay! [: Happy. Although it isn't the first time people said so. People either said my writing like girl's or very neat. OR very small (that's geog teachers for you) And I proceeded to write of Jonah's hypocrisy on my notes. I wrote "Hypocritical?" with an explanation after that. Then Danny took my pen, cancelled the "?" and wrote a "!" Okayy. I didn't mean the question mark as an inquiry you know. But I guess :/ Danny doesn't understand the subtleties of the English language. Yupp, that's all.
